Working with a Male Practitioner: Understanding Your Concerns

For some people, the idea of working with a male practitioner can feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable. This is especially true if you’ve typically chosen female practitioners in the past or if certain life experiences have shaped your preferences. I deeply respect these feelings and want to acknowledge that this is an important and valid consideration in your healing journey.

Your Comfort and Safety Come First

Your emotional and physical safety is my highest priority. I create a space where clear professional boundaries and open communication allow you to feel at ease. If you ever feel uncertain or uncomfortable, I encourage you to share your concerns. Every session is tailored to meet your needs at your pace, with no pressure to move beyond what feels safe for you.

No Pressure, Just Exploration

If you’ve actively avoided working with male practitioners before, I completely understand. You’re welcome to reach out just to have a conversation—there’s no obligation to book a session. Sometimes, talking through concerns in advance can provide clarity on whether this feels like the right fit for you.

What Other Clients Have Shared

Over the years, I’ve worked with many people who were hesitant to see a male practitioner, or who initially thought they wouldn’t feel comfortable. Some of them found a sense of safety and ease after just one session, while others needed more time to feel secure—and that’s completely okay. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach because each of us is different. My goal is to support you in finding your own sense of felt safety, without rushing or pushing the process.

Collaborative Healing

Our work together is a collaboration. You remain in control of what happens during a session, and I will always check in with you to ensure your comfort. Healing from trauma, or working through discomfort, takes time and trust, and my role is to meet you wherever you are in the moment.

Reclaiming Agency

Healing and growth is about reclaiming your agency and connecting with what feels right for you. If you decide to work with me, my approach is grounded in respect, empathy, and a deep commitment to helping you feel seen, heard, and supported.

If you have any questions or want to discuss whether working together feels like the right step, I’m here to talk. You are not alone in this process, and it’s my honor to walk alongside you as you explore the path to healing.
